Juno

So here is Juno. A smart-mouthed teen confronting unplanned pregnancy. It's about love and babies. The film is very funny despite the people in the back of me,at the theater, whimpering like little dogs. I really hate those awwwwwwwws at those semi-cute moments. Jeez people, stop it! However, film is highly recommended. Soundtrack is rather bizarre but goes well with the film. HAZZAH!

Nanking - The Massacre of Nanking

The Nanking Massacre, commonly known as the Rape of Nanking, was an infamous genocidal war crime committed by the Japanese military in the capital of Nanjing, after it fell to the Imperial Japanese Army on December 13, 1937. The duration of the massacre is not clearly defined, although the violence lasted well into the next six weeks, until early February 1938. continued here

Yesterday marked the 70th Anniversary of Nanjing. Today at work I was browsing around on facebook and came across a site. Curious, I clicked on the site and read a tragic tale of China's past. This is the first time I have ever heard of this story and I wanted to share with you what I have read and watched. There was a film on the site and I will post the links below. The Massacre of Nanking truly shows us how war can be gruesome and horrific. The video is not for the feign of heart. The images can be disturbing. Discretion is advised.

Now how are people going to deny, with hard evidence, that these atrocities never occurred. It is just sad to know that things such as this go unrecognized.

Lars and The Real Girl

So this past week I have watched two films. Yeah, that's a lot for a week. Okay, so the first film I watched was the Golden Compass. Honestly, the film sucked big dong. Go read the book if you haven't already. Do yourself a favor and stay away. Alright, with that being said, the second movie I watched was Lars and The Real Girl. It's a pretty cool film.

Lars has a problem with women. He has trouble touching, talking, or even looking at women. So what does he do? He gets with a plastic doll in which he thinks is real. Yeah, it's crazy. The film is pretty funny and sad and just bizarre at times. I really enjoyed it. So go peep it. Ryan Gosling, ladies! I'm not gay.

Bboy 4 Life, Literally!

Funny thing is, I do the same crap while in the rest room. Pun not intended!

A NaNa Obsession?

I think I have an Obsession with NANA. I admit, it might be bit gay. Even a bit Japan-o-philish but who cares, this whole NANA sprawling revolution is pure bliss to me. It all started with Nakashima Mika though. If it wasn't for her I'd probably never know what NANA is. Man, there are soo many things out too. Movies 1 & 2, NANA the anime, the Mangas (vol.18 is out by the way and man, it's getting downright crazy), and all the other fanbooks, PVs, and what not. HAHA shit, I sound like a douche bag. *Middle finger in the air* that's what I say.

Oh, here is a quick quick synopsis of what the manga is kind of about. It's about these two girls both named NANA. They meet and become friends. One is an aspiring rockstar and the other is a regular chick who gets into bad relationships. They call her Hachiko. Yup, that's it. Character Development ensues.

Here are some PVs from the anime sung by Anna.

Anna - Rose

Anna - Lucy

I suggest doing the movies first because, if you go straight to the manga or anime, you'd probably think the film was lacking. But the movies are good. Watch those, then do the anime, and then after the anime is done, pick back up on chapter 46 from the mangas. HAHA I need a life. Enjoy

Italian Spiderman Trailer

A good friend showed me this. Freakin Hilarious.

The Savages

Limited engagement. The Savages was showing at the highly expensive Arclight theater on Sunset. 14 bucks a ticket but you get assigned seatings, so that's cool. The film is a comedy set within death, dementia, growing old, and nursing homes. It is a story about a brother and sister in an attempt to rebuild their relationship. Depressing yet funny.
