The Mamiya Brothers

A story about two brothers, who are each others best friend, trying to find love. It's one of those films that I can relate too. Looking for love is tough, however their friendship helps overcome those times of loneliness. The film is a bit long but it's worth it.

Hell Has No Boundary (1982)

Shaw Brothers released this gem a while back. It has blood, guts, supernatural fighting, outrageous deaths, and a touch of TNA. I really enjoyed the film. Better then most Chinese Horror films IMO. Go check this out, The Eye, and Troublesome Night.

L'ilya

It's October or should I say SHOCKTOBER. Get Ready cause I'm going to start posting recommended and unrecommended horror films up. Pretty much whatever I watched. This one is about a girl who uses the instance of death as art. Short and weird. Very Cool!

Tekon kinkurîto

Tekkon Kinkreet is a film about two brothers who live in the streets of Treasure City. They kick ass. Yakuza ass especially. Very strange film, but I enjoyed it. Don't want to write too much today, so just watch it. Peace.

Samâ taimumashin burûsu

Summer Time Machine Blues is a comedy about a group of friends who are in a sci-fi club that come upon a time machine. The movie revolves around a broken AC controller. They attempt to travel back in time to fix the past but run into other problems along the way. The film is great. It asks the question that is if you travel back in time and change the past, what will happen to you in the present? It has that kind of slow indie feel to it but definitely a funny film.

Aachi wa Ssipak

I recently got my hands on a Korean Anime Movie. This is my first time watching Korean animation so I was pretty excited. The film is very strange, but I'll do my best to give you just a taste of what the film is about. So basically the world has depleted all its sources of energy, besides human excrements. Basically the world is run by shit. To reward people who shit a lot, they give them an addictive Popsicles called Juicy Bars. It's like crack. Aachi and Ssipak are street hoodlums who are trying to smuggle and steal them to make profit. In this world, there are also mutants of the Popsicle who call themselves the Diaper Gang. Because of the Juicy Bars, they are unable to shit. But because their only food source is the Juicy Bars, they have to steal them. Currently, there is a big war between the Diaper Gang and the Police. With an idea from Jimmy the Freak, the leader of the gang decides to implant all these ass rings, it's like a counter to produce Juicy Bars after you shit, into a girl named Beautiful. So every time she takes a dump there are hundreds of Juicy Bars that emerge. She is a captive and is saved by Aachi and Ssipak. Once they figure out what she is capable of, they decide to become top dealers to get rich. But it isn't so easy with the Police and Diaper Gang chasing after you. Wow, I'm tired of writing. Check it out. It's pretty dope. Aeon Flux meets animation. Guns a-blazing action. HAHA Strange I know!

Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang

Korean dramas are sooooooo drama. With that being said, I just recently finished watching this series. It took me quite a while, but I'm finally done. Quick synopsis, Lee Mong-ryong is the male lead who transfers to a new school. Seong Chun Hyang is the female lead that Mong-ryong bumps into. Upon their first time meeting, they end up hating each other. But do to some circumstances, they get drunk somehow, they end up sleeping together in the same house. Nothing happens between the two however due to gossip they are forced to marry each other to avoid scandal. After, they are forced to live with one another. The two eventually start falling in love and yeah, typical drama stuff. Then with most Korean dramas, there's a love triangle, deception, a little comedy, and then back to more drama, deception, and just drama crap. I like Korean dramas and this one is pretty cool. I recommended this title, however if you have stress, don't watch. It will only cause you more stress. HAHA The OST is superb by the way. Cute series but I think Sassy Girl was better. Enjoy!

Orange Days

I have finally finished watching this drama! It was one of those dramas that I had but never got back to it. I'd watch the first episode, get hooked, then stop, then watch another, then stop, and then, finally, I just finished the damned thing. It's good. I've read many posts saying that this drama has got to be one of their favorites. I agree. It's touching. The drama is about Kai Yuuki (Satoshi Tsumabuki), who is in his senior year at the university trying to figure out what to do with his life. One day, he meets a girl, Sae Hagio (Kou Shibasaki who is also in Rinne), on campus playing the violin. He becomes intrigued by her and, on his pursuit, he finds out that she had lost her hearing four years ago and can only communicate through sign language. Then throughout the drama there is life obstacles and so forth. It's highly recommended even though it is fairly old. On to the Next!

J-Live - Them That's Not

Just a really dope underground track that's probably hard to get. I heard it a few years back but recently resurfaced. Check it out. It's that Dope!

Imperial JB's

Holy Shit. I can't believe I found clips from the Imperial JB's. When I was growing up, these guys were definitely one of my inspirations. These two videos bring back a lot of good memories. They are so crazy. Hopefully I find some more vintage Japanese bboys to showcase on my blog. Enjoy.

Nodame Cantabile Live Action

For the past few days I have been watching, non-stop, Nodame Cantabile live action series. If you can get through the first episode, you will surely enjoy the rest. This comedy Jdrama is about Shinichi Chiaki, who is the top pianist at the Momogaoka College of Music. Even though he is excellent at both piano and violin, his true calling is to become a conductor. Chiaki knows that in order for him to be the best he has to travel overseas to learn, but because of his childhood fears of drowning and flying, he cannot do so. He then meets Nodame, Noda Megumi, who's character is very child like and free spirited. She too is an excellent pianist. Chiaki is the complete opposite of Nodame. Chiaki helps her to become clean when she is always dirty and to play the piano with proper technique. Because of this, he learns to help others as well. His passion for conducting then flourishes and he soon begins to realize what he can do in Japan. There are alot of other very cool characters you'll meet through out the drama. My favorite characters are Mine Ryūtarō, a 3rd year violinist, and Okuyama Masumi, a 4th year timpanist who is gay. The drama is very good. It's funny with a dab of romance. I highly recommend it, plus it is only 11 episodes long. In January 2008, they will also be airing a special 2 episode Nodame Cantabile. Can't wait. GYABOOO!

Hottie Cat - Reggae Dance

I really don't know what to say about this. Cute J girls doing dance hall. I don't know much about reggae dance or whatever you call it, but apparently in Japan there are people who do it. It's more perverted if anything. But that's just me. It's entertaining, I guess. I'm always down for chicks who go upside down and stand onto their heads. HOT!!!!

Byōsoku Go Senchimētoru (2007)

I kind of dislocated my knee, and over the weekend I pretty much vegetated at home watching whatever I could get my hands on. I watched a little bit of TV, I watched a little bit of Nodame Cantabile (live action), and I watched this Anime movie called 5 Centimeters per Second. 5 Centimeters per Second is a film about the struggles of time, love, and life. In the beginning of the film, the 5 seconds refers to the speed at which the Cherry Blossom pedals fall as told by one of the film's character. You then soon realize that this statement is told throughout the story as a metaphor. The film consists of three short stories about a boy named Takaki Tōno and his close friend Akari Shinohara. The short stories are all different but the idea is basically about love and lost love, time, and loneliness. It was a pretty sad film. You actually feel bad for Takaki. I sometimes wonder, why not go for that surfer girl in his high school days. Throughout the whole movie, it seems as though he is in this enormous FUNK! But, I guess I would be too. Overall I thought the animation was superb. It is not that long so you go through it fairly quick. Very emo type if you asked me. EMOOOOO! Okay, now go and check it out.
